Investment Advisory Committee
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to California Government Code §54974, that vacancies
exist on the newly created Investment Advisory Committee. There are seven open positions. All
seven citizen representatives will be appointed to a two-year term expiring December 31, 2026
and then every two years thereafter). The successful appointee(s) will be required to file a
Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office; and complete
Ethics Training and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training and Education as required by State
law (California Government Code §53235, §53237.1).
The Investment Advisory Committee is established to act in an advisory capacity and provide
recommendations on matters including but not limited to the following:
1. General advice to the City Council regarding the City's Investment Policy;
2. Compliance with applicable California laws and regulations;
3. Review of the City's investment strategy.
Qualifications: Members shall have their primary residence or primary place of employment in
the City of Orange. In addition, they must have demonstrated managerial experience of no less
than five years in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, investment brokerage
and sales, investment management, financial management and planning, or commercial
banking.
No member of the Committee shall be financially interested in any contract, or otherwise conduct
any business with any member of the City Council, the City Manager, the Finance Director, the
City Treasurer, or the City or any of its agencies, either on an individual basis or as a partner,
major shareholder, member, or employee of any firm.
Meetings: Held on the fourth Wednesday of January, April, July, and October at 5:30 p.m.
Application Deadline: Open until filled. In accordance with Govt. Code 54974, final appointment
to the commission shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 business days after the
posting of this notice.
