Shaffer Street (APN: 386-071-19) REQUEST: An appeal of Design Review Committee denial of Design Review No. 5067-22; a proposal to demolish an existing non-contributing 465 square-foot garage and construct a new 400 square-foot garage with an attached 108 square foot workshop restroom and storage closet (total 508 square feet) at a 35-foot setback. The existing house and garage are not contributors to the Old Towne Historic District. DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE ACTION: On June 21, 2023, the Design Review Committee voted (6-0) to deny the proposal. ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION: The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) does not apply to projects that are disapproved by staff. Therefore, environmental review is not required.
