A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.
10737 AND ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING DAYS AND TIMES
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 54954 requires the City Council to take a formal
action to establish the meeting time for regularly scheduled meetings; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Orange Municipal Code section 2.04.020, the City Council of the
City of Orange is authorized to establish the days and times of its regularly scheduled meetings by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, on October 8, 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 10737, which
established the City Council regular meeting days and times as the second Tuesday of each month
convening any closed session at 5:00 p.m. and the regular session at 6:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS,the City Council wishes to amend the days of the regularly scheduled meetings
and add one meeting each month to allow for greater public participation and enhance the efficiency
of the City's ability to conduct the public's business.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange
hereby:
1. Rescinds Resolution No. 10737.
2.Establishes that, effective March 2023, the regularly scheduled meetings of the City
Council shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month except the month of
December. There shall be one regularly scheduled meeting on the second Tuesday in December.
Meetings shall convene at the hour of 6:00 p.m. In the event any such Tuesday is a legal holiday,
the meeting shall convene the following day at 6:00 p.m.
3.Establishes that any necessary closed session shall begin at 5:00 p.m. preceding the
regularly scheduled meeting.
