SUBJECT:PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY
COUNCIL ON AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 17 (ZONING CODE)
OF THE ORANGE MUNCIPAL CODE TO UPDATE WALL AND FENCE
DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS

REQUEST:Staff has completed a comprehensive update to the Orange Municipal Code Title 17,
which will modify development standards allowing taller wall and fence heights,
clarify allowed materials, and allow methods of review for wall and fence heights that
are above allowed heights based on nearby land uses, topography, and local noise
levels. Staff is seeking a recommendation to the City Council from the Planning
Commission.

INFORMATION: The project is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines Section 15305
(Class 5- Minor Alterations to Land Use Limitations).
