1. OPENING

The Design Review Committee of the City of Orange, California convened on May 5,
2021 at 5:30 p.m. in a Regular lvleeting in the Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman
Avenue, Orange, California and various teleconference locations.
CALL TO ORDER
Chair Fox called the meeting to order at 5:42 p.m.

Committee Member Mccormack led the flag salute.

Absent: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
CONSENT CALENDAR
All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the
Design Review Committee and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no
separate discussion of said items unless members of the Design Review Committee,
staff or the public request specific items removed from the Consent Calendar for
separate action-
Item 2.2 was removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion
Approval of meeting minutes of the Design Review Committee of the City of
Orange for the Aptil 21, 2021 Regular Meeting.
ACTION: A motion was made by Committee Member McDermott, seconded by
Committee Member Skorpanich, to approve the Aptil 21, 202'1 meeting minutes as
presented.
The motion carried by the following vote:

2.2.Design Review No. 5035-21, O Sea and Tabu Shabu Signage, 109and 111 S.
Glassell Street
A proposal for signage for two new restaurants in the Plaza Historic District.
The Committee discussed the following:. Errors on the last page of the plans. Signage on windows. Preservation of brick and attachment detail

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:54 p.m.
The next Regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. in
the Council Chamber and various teleconference locations.

ACTION: A motion was made by Committee Member Skorpanich, seconded by
Commrttee Member McDermott, to approve Design Review No. 5035-21, O Sea and
Tabu Shabu Signage, subject to the findings and conditions in the staff report, with the
additional Conditions as follows:
1. Any penetration into the building facade to install signage and wiring shall only
occur between bricks in order to avoid damage to the bricks.
2. There shall be no signage on windows or within 3 feet of the window on the interior
of the building.
3. The submifted plans need to be corrected to show what is represented in the
drawings and address inconsistencies with the notations.
