06-08-2021 Public Hearing - CDBG 2019 Action Plan Amendment CITY OF ORANGE NOTICE OF 5-DAY PUBLIC REVIEW AND PUBLIC HEARING AMENDMENTS TO THE 2019 ACTION PLAN FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FROM THE CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY (CARES) ACT ROUND 3 (CDBG-CV3) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Orange will hold a public comment period and a public hearing for proposed amendments to the 2019 Action Plan to consider allocation of CDBG-CV3 funds received. 5-Day Public Review – May 29, 2021 to June 2, 2021 In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the City will receive $1,108,070 in CDBG-CV3 funds under the CARES Act from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CARES Act and HUD have allowed an abbreviated notice and application process in order to expedite the release of the funds. The City will amend its 2019 Action Plan by outlining projects for funding with CDBG- CV3 funds to provide services and programs to designated underserved segments of the community affected by the pandemic. The five day public review and comment period will begin on May 29, 2021, and end on June 2, 2021. The amendments to the 2019 Action Plan will be available on the City’s website at https://www.cityoforange.org/1873/Housing-Documents; and upon request by contacting staff. City Council Public Hearing The Orange City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the City of Orange Council Chamber, 300 East Chapman Avenue, and various teleconference locations, to consider amendments to the 2019 Action Plan. All interested persons may submit comments and may be heard on any relevant matter relating to the proposed action by mail, email, voicemail or in-person as set forth in the June 8, 2021, City Council agenda.
