NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
APPEAL NO. 0555-21
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Orange will hold a Public Hearing,
Tuesday, May 11, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chamber,
300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, and various teleconference locations, to consider the following
request:
SUBJECT: Appeal of the denial of CUP No. 3121-20 by the Planning Commission, a proposal to
add a chapel within an existing professional office building to provide memorial services
for Shannon Family Mortuary.
PROJECT LOCATION: 1005 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA 92866
PROJECT APPLICANT: Shannon Family Mortuary
LEAD AGENCY: City of Orange, 300 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA 92866
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION: The proposed project is categorically exempt from the
provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines 15301
(Class 1 - Existing Facilities) because the project consists of the licensing of an existing professional
office building, consistent with the property’s zoning and General Plan designation.
All interested persons may submit comments and may be heard on any relevant matter relating to the
proposed actions by mail, email, voicemail or in-person, as set forth in the May 11, 2021, City Council
agenda to be posted on the City’s website www.cityoforange.org.
