Summer Reading Program:
Joan Blumenstein presented a report on a ve�y successful summer of children's
programming. Over 1,000 childxen p�.rt�cipated in �the Summer Reading� game;
they read over 22,000 books.
Announcem�nts:
a. Karen Leo announced that library staff were rece�ving
training on the use of the city's compu�er.
b. Nora Jacob's appointrnent to the, SLS Adv�sory Board w�.11
be on the next City Council agenda.
c. LVA had a 'yarc7 sale' and earned $�04. So far, they have
earned $2,.386 for LVA mater�als.
d. The book sale at E1 Modena r�ett�d $128. Taf� will have

a booJc sal� on Saturday, Octobe� 5th.
e. The bid has gone out for the �econcl half of the roof �o
b� repaired.
f. A patron wrote a lette� complaining about the high cost
for placing a reserve on a book.
