A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
LIEUTENANT JIM HUDSON OF THE ORANGE POLICE
DEPARTME:"<T AND COMMENDING IDM FOR
TWENTY YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Jim Hudson began his service with the Orange Police Department in
November 1981; and
WHEREAS, Jim, who carries badge # 390, has served the Police Department as a
Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Crime Sce:ne Investigator, Canine Handler, Master
Police Officer, RobberylHomicide Detective and Training Manager; and
WHEREAS, Jim obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of
San Francisco and his Masters from California State University, Long Beach, and
WHEREAS, Jim was promoted to the position of Sergeant in 1991and served in
every facet of the Police organization. He served as a Patrol Sergeant, supervised the
Juvenile Bureau, DARE Unit, Property Crimes and Gang Suppression Detail, the Traffic
Bureau, Special Events Coordinator, Press Information Officer, supervised the
Communication Unit and spent over three years as the department's Legal and Internal
Affairs Sergeant. Jim faithfully served the Orange Police Management Association as a
Board Member since 1991 and has held every position on the board including President;

WHEREAS, Jim was promoted to the position of Leiutenant in 1999 and once
again served the Patrol Division as Watch Commander. In the year 2000, Jim was
assigned to the Administrative Division where he served as the Administration Lieutenant
supervising the Records Bureau, Personnel and Training Unit, Crime Prevention Unit,
Crime Analysis Unit, Alarm Billing and Building and Fleet Services.
WHEREAS, Jim has accepted a position as a Captain with the City of Alhambra
Police Department. It will be known that the City of Alhambra will be forever enchanced
imd enriched with the integrity, ethics and class of Captain Jim Hudson.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, Mark Murphy, Mayor of the City
of Orange, commend Lieutenant Jim Hudson on his twenty years of loyal and dedicated
service to the Orange Police Department and to the citizens of the City of Orange.
