RES-9523 Loyal Service Appreciation for Joseph A. DupuisRESOLUTION NO. 9523 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DETECTIVE JOSEPH A. DUPUIS OF THE ORANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR TWENTY FOUR YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE WHEREAS, Joseph A. Dupuis began his service with the Orange Police Department in August, 1974 after serving with the Inglewood Police Department from 1971 to 1973 and the Laguna Beach Police Department from 1973 to 1974, and; WHEREAS, Joe served the Orange Police Department until 1984 before joining the San Luis Obispo Police Department from 1984 to 1987, and; WHEREAS, Joe rejoined the Orange Police Department in 1987, and; WHEREAS, Joe, AKA "Joe Black," who carries badge #235 has served the police department as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, K-9 Officer, Property Crimes Detective,Accident Investigator, Motor Officer, Court and District Attorney Liaison Officer, been a member of the SWAT and for the last five years as a Detective in Personnel and Training, and;WHEREAS, Joe has BA Degree from the University of Redlands, has served as President of the California Background Investigator's Association, has served on the City of Orange Police Officer's Association Board for 4 terms and is presently the President of COP A, and;WHEREAS, Joe was an advisor to Law Enforcement Explorer Post 266 for 4 years, has been a youth soccer and softball coach, has received numerous commendations from the community and the police department, and;WHEREAS, Joe was Employee of the 4th quarter last year, and;WHEREAS, Joe, a valued and productive employee, has had an outstanding law enforcement career and has decided to retire on October 3, 2001.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange expresses to Detective Joe DuPuis of the Orange Police Department its sincere appreciation for his 24 years ofloyal and dedicated service to the City of BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Orange, wishes Joe and his family a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.
