A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO IRENE CARNEY OF THE COMMUNITY &
LIBRARY SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HER FOR MORE THAN
TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Irene Carney began her service with the City of Orangt: as
a Personnel Clerk on June 7,1976, after working in the Personnel Department the
previous year as a temporary Clerk-
Typist; and WHEREAS, Irene moved to the Community Services Department
in 1987,working her way up from Intermediate Clerk to Secretary there, and in
the reconfigured Community and Library Services Department eventually moving across the
street to become Orange Public Library's Secretary in
2000; and WHEREAS, Irene provided capable and hard-working
secretarial assistance and organizational coordination to several supervisors and division
managers, using her people skills, her network of contacts, and her bilingual speaking abilities to
get the job done and to serve the public in a timely manner for nearly
fifteen years; and WHEREAS, Irene also served with distinction as the
second President of Orange's National Management Association (NMA) chapter, then as
an NMA Board member for more than fifteen years after that, organizing
programs, arranging luncheon menus, and obtaining mementos for guest speakers
and attendees; and WHEREAS, Irene's conscientiousness, skills and abilities, and
her willingness to always be of assistance have benefited the City of Orange and
virtually every employee of the Community and Library Services Department
for many years.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Orange that Irene Carney be congratulated for her loyal and dedicated service
to the City of Orange for more
than
twenty-six years.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council, on behalf
of the citizens of Orange, wishes Irene and her husband, Ted, a long, happy
and healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 25th day
