RES-9501 Loyal Service Appreciation for John GodlewskiRESOLUTION NO. 9501 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JOHN GODLEWSKI OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR THIRTEEN YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, John Godlewski began his career with the City of Orange on January 18, 1988; John has held many responsible positions at the City, which include Senior Planner, Manager of Current Planning, Administrator of Current Planning, Code Enforcement Manager, Manager of Community Enhancement, Senior Project Planner and Principal Planner, Throughout his career in Orange, John has significantly contributed to many development projects including Serrano Heights, Chapman University Specific Plan, 1995 Zoning Ordinance rewrite, 1992 and 2001 Old Towne General Plan Consistency Hearings, Taft Avenue Study, and the Culver Avenue Zone Change, just to mention a few. He has successfully dealt with issues ranging from chicken signs to the preservation of Historic Downtown Orange and will fondly be remembered for his participation in siding removal and bulk and mass issues. He has taken care of Old Towne, Uptown and everything all around the town, John has also been called upon countless times to utilize his diverse and creative talents, earning him numerous awards for his contributions; and is affectionately known around the office as "Mr, Fix-It", always ready, willing and able to help with a " broken this" or a "busted that".With John's new job, we hope he will still find time to enjoy his many hobbies,such as canoeing, fishing, woodworking, and golfing. He is currently actively involved with the Orange YMCA and serves as a board member.John has resigned his position with the City of Orange in order to serve as Director of Community Development with the City of Los Alamitos, His friendly and outgoing personality will sincerely be missed, not only in the offices of City Hall, but throughout the entire City of Orange, where he has made numerous friends and earned the respect of residents, business owners and all those doing business in Orange,NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that John Godlewski be congratulated for his more than 13 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange.ADOPTED this 14th day of August, 1M of Orange ATTEST: Cvt-~ Cassandra J.
