RESOLUTION NO. 9417
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARlLY CLOSING A
SECTION OF COLLINS AVENUE FROM MAIN
STREET TO BATAVIA STREET FOR A SPECIAL
EVENT.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, Motorsport Industries, Inc. has requested a temporary closure of a section
of Collins Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Motorsport Industries, Inc. has agreed to comply with the regulations
governing parties in public places that alcoholic beverages on public streets are a violation of the
law, loud or offensive music will lead to the revocation of their permits, it is the applicants'
responsibility to clean the streets after the event, and to maintain 12 feet of unobstructed access
for emergency vehicles.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows:
That Collins Avenue from Main Street to Batavia Street, be closed from 6:00 a.m.
till 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2001.
ADOPTED this 27th day of February, 2001.
