A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT CERTAIN DONATIONS
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, from time to time persons, companies, or organizations desire to donate
money or items such as equipment to the City as a public service; and
WHEREAS, Section 37354 of the California Government Code authorizes the City
Council to accept or reject any gift, bequest, or devise made to or for the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, among the general duties and responsibilities of the City Manager for
the efficient administration of all affairs of the City, Chapter 2.16 of the Orange Municipal
Code authorizes the City Manager to perform such other duties and exercise such other
powers as may be delegated to him from time to time by ordinance or resolution or other
action of the City Council.
WHEREAS, for the purpose of furthering the efficient administration of the affairs
of the City, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to accept or reject any
gift, bequest or devise made to or for the City of Orange having a value not in excess of
5,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as
follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept or
reject any gift, bequest or devise made to or for the City of Orange having a value not in
excess of $5,000. Any and all gifts, bequests or devises made to or for the City of Orange
having a value in excess of$5,OOO shall be accepted or rejected by the City Council.

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to develop and issue
administrative procedures for the acceptance of gifts, bequests and devises made to or for the
City contemplated by the adoption of this Resolution, to keep said procedures in the City's
Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual, and to administer the City's obligations,
responsibilities and duties to be performed under this Resolution and said manual.
