RES-9662 Temporary Street Closure for Special EventRESOLUTION NO. 9662 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING ATCHISON STREET BETWEEN CHAPMAN AVENUE AND MAPLE AVENUE ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2002, FOR A SPECIAL EVENT. WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 2110 I ( e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and WHEREAS the City of Orange wishes to temporarily close a section of Atchison Street, and WHEREAS, the City of Orange has agreed to comply with the regulations goveming street closures for special events that alcoholic beverages on public streets are a violation of the law, the applicant will provide all signing, barricades, delineation, and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Department; that loud or offensive music will lead to the revocation of their permit, notify area residents and businesses of the event and temporary street closure and that it is the applicants' responsibility to clean the streets after the event. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows: That Atchison Street between Chapman Avenue and Maple Avenue be closed from 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday - November 11,2002, for a ~'reedom ls Not Free day of remembrance sponsored by th(~ City of Orange.ADOPTED this 8th day of October, 2002.l1J~ Mark A.
