A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING
OLIVE STREET FROM CHAPMAN AVE. TO
ALMOND AVE. FROM 6:00 A.M" TO 3:00 P.M. ON
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2002, FOR A SPECIAL
EVENT AT THE ORANGE SENIOR CENTER.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 211 00(f) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety arId protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, Orange Elderly Services has requested a temporary closure of a section of
Olive Street, and
WHEREAS, The Senior Center has agreed to comply with the regulations governing
street closures for special events that alcoholic beverages on public streets are a violation of the
law, loud or offensive music will lead to the revocation of their permits, it is the applicants'
responsibility to clean the streets after the event, and to maintain 12 feet of unobstmcted access
for emergency vehicles.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows:
That Olive Street from Chapman Ave. to Almond Ave. be closed from 6:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2002.
ADOPTED this 24th day of September, 2002.
