RES-9595 Loyal Service Appreciation for Patrick D. MooreRESOLUTION NO. 9595 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO PATRICK D. MOORE OF THE CITY OF ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMEl\'T AND COMMEND HIM FOR MORE THAN THIRTY-TWO YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.WHEREAS, Patrick D. (Denny) Moore began his career with the City of Orange Fire Department on July I, 1968 and was promoted to Fire Engineer on January I, 1974; and WHEREAS, Denny "Firecracker" Moore was well known as a practical joker, he was a man of few words but he always had a trick up his sleeve and was well liked by all; and WHEREAS, Denny was a hard worker, so much so that his Captain wrote: " Mr.Moore does his job and then some, If I would let him, he would do everyone else's job as well." He also wrote; "Mr. Moore is, has and always will be a good example for our new firefighters. He is the perfect example of what our department should be made up of'; and WHEREAS, in addition to his normal duties, Denny was instrumental in the dorrnitory remodel at Station 3 and in the completion of Fire Station 8, for all of these reasons, Denny Moore will be missed.NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, Mark A. Murphy, Mayor of the City of Orange, on behalf of the entire City Council, recognize and congratulate Patrick D. (Denny) Moore for his thirty-two years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange and that the City Council on behalf of all the citizens of Orange wish Denny and his wife Jan a long, happy, and healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 23rd day of April, 2002.lAl j K hy,May.r the City ATTEST: A Cassandra J.
