A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO RICKY F. ANDERSON OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE THAN TWENTY-
EIGHT YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Ricky F. Anderson upon separation from the United States Marine
Corps, through the pep/vet program, began his career as a Fire Mechanic Helper with the
City of Orange Fire Department on November 30, 1972; and
WHEREAS, on October 29, 1973, Ricky was hired as a fireman, he served the
City of Orange in this capacity for the next 28 years; and
WHEREAS, Ricky was always known as a man who was easy to work with.
Other firefighters always enjoyed working with him due to his great personality, and easy
going ways. He was also known as someone who was a good worker, someone you
could always depend upon; and
WHEREAS, Rick was a member of the Fire Department Safety Committee and
was well known for his mechanical skills which came in especially handy when
extricating a very distressed woman's cat from under the seat of her car; and
WHEREAS, he was also well known for his five-alarm firehouse chili and was
a winner of a City of Orange chili cook off. We're not so sure about his chili, but Rick
will definitely be
missed.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City
of Orange, that Ricky F. Anderson be recognized and congratulated for his
twenty-eight years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange and that the City
Council on behalf of the citizens of Orange wishes Rick a long, happy, and
healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 26th day of
