RES-9579 Loyal Service Appreciation Terry L. ArmstrongRESOI,UTION NO. 9579 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO TERRY L. ARMSTRONG OF THE CITY OF ORANGE FIIU: DEI'ARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE THAN THIRTY- EIGHT YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, Captain Terry L. Armstrong began his career as a fireman with the City of Orange Fire Department on December I, 1963 and has served the City of Orange for the past 38 years; ~md WHEREAS, on May 20, 1964 Terry was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years. He was discharged on May 19, 1966 and was rehired by the Orange Fire Department on May 21, 1966; and WHEREAS, on November I, 1970, Terry was promoted to the rank of Fire Engineer, he has since held the position of Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Engineer/Paramedic and in October of 1985 he reached the rank of Fire Captain; and WHEREAS, Terry was not only a dedicated firefighter, he involved himself in teaching his skills to others through his participation in R.O.P., Chapman University's Enterprise program, the A TLS Provider Course at UCIMC and as a preceptor for paramedic trainees. He was also an Associate Instructor at the Regional Fire Academy; and WHEREAS, he received an Award of Merit from the California State Firemen's Association for his heroic life saving efforts; and WHEREAS, Terry is a very caring individual who was always a great ambassador for the City, his friends at the Orange Fire Department sincerely miss Terry sinc(, his retirement on September 29,2001. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that Terry L. Armstrong be recognized and congratulated for his loyal and dedi,;ated service to the City of Orange for more than thirty-eight years and that the City Cowlcil wishes Terry and his wife Pam a long, happy, and healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 26th day of March, J- Mar A. ~urphY,of the City of Orange ATTEST: 4~A'~j;~U~ Cassandra J.
