A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO RONNIE E. SANCHEZ OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE THAN TWENTY-
NI~E YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Ronnie E. Sanchez joined the Orange Fire Department on August
5, 1973 after spending four years with the Colton Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the USAR Task Force 5 Ron was a part of the swift
water rescue team. He put these skills to use in the Sacramento flood in 1997. He was
also one of Orange's firefighters mobilized to the Oklahoma City bombing incident. He
was highly commended for his high level of training, discipline and courage during these
dangerous and tragic events; and
WHEREAS, Ron made use of his bilingual ability when possible and was a role
model for youth. On numerous occasions, he spoke at career days in schools; and
WHEREAS, Ron put his knowledge of the trades to good use, and took an active
role in the construction of Fire Station 8; and
WHEREAS, he was known as a team player and was always highly respected by
his peers, he is missed by his many friends at the Orange Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange that Ronnie E. Sanchez be recognized and congratulated for his loyal and
dedicated service to the citizens of Orange for more than twenty-nine years and that
the City Council wishes Ron and his wife Bea a long, happy and healthy
retirement.ADOPTED this 26th day of March,
