COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AND THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE ORANGE
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, ORANGE
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,CREATING A JOINT CITY/SCHOOL TASK
FORCE TO STUDY RESIDENTIAL GROWTH
IMPACTS ON SCHOOLS
AND PARKS.WHEREAS, the City of Orange and the Orange Unified School District both have
a public responsibility to provide services to a growing population as the result of
residential
development;and WHEREAS, enrollment growth which can be expected from residential
development will significantly contribute to the need for additional parks 3ltld school
capacity; and WHEREAS, planning and building new schools and community parks is
a three-to-five-year process, once appropriate sites
have been designated; and WHEREAS, the relationship between residential development
and the funding and creation of new schools and parks require the close cooperation of
city and school officials.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Orange and the Board of Education of the Orange Unified School District
hereby adopt this Joint Resolution creating a Joint City/School Task Force to support the creation of
school and park sites as a paJ1 of proposed residential development and make
recommendations to
their respective legislative bodies.ADOPTED this 26th
day of March, 2002.
