A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING THE JOINT
POWERS AGREEMENT FOR THE ORANGE
COUNTY CITIES RISK MANAGEMENT
AUTHORITY, CHANGING ITS NAME TO THE
CALIFORNIA INSURANCE POOL AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Orange ("City") is a member of the Orange County Cities riskManagementAuthority ("Authority"); and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the authority has determined that it is in the bestinterestoftheAuthoritythatitchangeitsnametotheCaliforniaInsurancePoolAuthority; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed Amendment, attached asExhibitAandconcursthatthenamechangewouldbeinthebestinterestoftheCity.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITYOFORANGEASFOLLOWS:
1. The City approves the Amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement for
the Orange County Cities Risk Management Authority, attached as
Exhibit A, changing the name of the Authority to the California
Insurance Pool Authority.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the
Amendment to Joint Powers Agreement and forward the Amendment
to the Clerk of the Authority.

AMENDMENT TO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENTFORTHEORANGECOUNTYCITIESRISKMANAGEMENTAUTHORITY
This amendment (the "Amendment") to the Joint Powers Agreement for the OrangeCountyCitiesRiskManagementAuthority (the "Agreement") is executed and entered into as of JanuaryI, 2002 (the "Effective Date"), by and between the Member Agencies as defined by the AgreementTheMemberAgenciesagreeasfollows:WHEREAS,
the Member Agencies previously entered into the Agreement, pursuant to GovernmentCodesection6500, et seq., establishing the Orange COWlty Cities Risk ManagementAuthority (the "Authority"); and WHEREAS,
the Board of Directors of the Authority has determined that it is in the best interestsoftheAuthoritythatitchangeitsnametothe "California Insurance Pool Authority";andWHEREAS,
each Member Agency has reviewed the proposed name change and concurs thatthenamechangewouldbeinthebestinterestoftheMemberAgenciesandtheAuthority,NOW,
THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual advantages to be derived therefromandinconsiderationoftheexecutionofthisAmendmentbyeachMemberAgency,The
Member Agencies agree to amend the Agreement by adding a new article as follows:ARTICLE
IA. NAME CHANGE.a)
The name of the Authority is changed to "California Insurance Pool Authority". All references in the Agreement to "Orange County Cities Risk Management Authority", "OCCRMA", and the "Authority" shall mean "California Insurance Pool Authority" ("CIPA").b)
The powers, obligations, and responsibilities of the Authority as set forth inthisAgreementarenotaffectedinanywaybythenamechange.IN
