RES-9754 Loyal Service Appreciation For Pablo R LobatoRESOLUTION NO. 9754 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATON TO PABLO R. LOBATO OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE THAN THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.WHEREAS, Pablo (Paul) Lobato began his career with the City of Orange, Parks and Recreation Department on November 6, 1968 as a Park Caretaker. Paul was promoted to Park Skilled Maintenance Helper, Park Foreman and to Supervisor, spending 15 years as a Field Maintenance Supervisor. On July 10, 2000, Paul was promoted to Acting Park Superintendent and was officially appointed permanent Park Superintendent in July 2001; and WHEREAS, Paul Lobato's supervisors have consistently rated him as an exceptional City employee, demonstrating good judgment, job effectiveness and excellent attitude. He has displayed complete professionalism every day for the last 35 years; and WHEREAS, he is a husband, father, grandfather, godfather, brother, uncle and cousin to many relatives, and played with his friends and relatives at the swimming and wading pools at Hart Park. He attended Killefer Elementary School, Portola Middle School and Orange High School; and WHEREAS, he is an avid golfer who is tough to beat in a skins game, pursuing his passion on vacations and weekends, and known throughout the Community Services Department as, "The Best Golfer in the Department", and is also a fanatical Los Angeles Dodgers fan; and WHEREAS, Paul is also known by his fellow staff members as, "Two Cans", because it must take two cans of hairspray to get his hair to stay in place - not one strand astray for the whole work day; and WHEREAS, Paul is not only a valued member, but also a great friend, of the City of Orange family, especially the Community Services Department, and will truly be missed after 35 years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Orange, recognizes and congratulates Paul Lobato for 35 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange, and on behalf of the citizens of Orange, wishes Paul and his wife Eleanor a long, happy and healthy retirement.
