(or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard) SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 3119-20, DESIGN REVIEW NO. 5009-20, AND MINOR SITE PLAN REVIEW NO. 1011-20 – ORANGE PLAZA INN PROPERTY LOCATION: 137 E. MAPLE AVENUE AND 230 N. ORANGE STREET REQUEST: A proposal to convert an existing building, formerly used as a mortuary, to a twelve-room hotel with an accessory event space and an Alcoholic Beverage Control Type 47 License (On-Sale General - Eating Place). ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION: The proposed project is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines 15303 (Class 3 - New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures). The project consists of modifications to an existing building to convert it into a hotel with an accessory event space. The building is less than 10,000 square feet in an urbanized area consistent with the property’s zoning and General Plan designation and where public services are available.
