A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE SUMMARILY VACATING A
PORTION OF THE NORTH SIDE OF A CUL-
DE-SAC ON MEATS AVENUE, WEST OF
GLASSELL STREET, FOR STREET PURPOSES,
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING AN EASEMENT FOR ANY
AND ALL EXISTING
UTILITIES.WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to vacate a portion of the north side ofthe
cul-de-sac on Meats Avenue, west of Glassell Street, for street
purposes; and WHEREAS, the portion of street to be vacated is specifically described in
the attached legal description and
map; and WHEREAS, this summary vacation of the street is conducted pursuant to
Division 9,Part 3, Chapter 4 of the Streets and Highways Code, Sections 8330 et
seq.; and WHEREAS, this vacation meets all of the requirements for a summary vacation
of the street under
said Code.NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange declares
as follows:1. That this summary vacation is made pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter
4 of the Streets and Highways Code, Section 8330
et seq.2. That the easement for street purposes to be summarily vacated is
that northerly portion of the cul-de-sac on Meats Avenue, located west of Glassell
Street, as more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B, which are
attached hereto and incorporated
herein by this reference.3. That the City reserves and excepts from such
vacation all existing easements granted for utility purposes, and reserves any rights necessary
to maintain, operate, replace,remove or
renew such public utilities.4. That the portion of the cul-de-sac on Meats
Avenue to be summarily vacated is excess right of way not
required for right of way purposes.S. That the street to be summarily vacated
has been impassable to vehicular travel for a period of more than five consecutive years and no
public money has been
expended
6. That the street to be summarily vacated is unnecessary for present or prospective
public use because the cul-de-sac portion of Meats Avenue was never constructed or
used and was developed as a
through street.7. That from and after the date this Resolution is recorded the street
vacated shall no longer constitute a
public street.8. That the City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution
to be recorded in the office ofthe Orange
County Recorder.ADOPTED this 14th day of
