4.2.2 Staff arrived early to set up; they gave out 10 new library cards; most people said they already had a library
card – but many of them were not aware of the Show Your Library Card program. Director Moreno stated
that because they were right at the entrance they received a lot of questions about where to go and where to
check in!
4.2.3 Staff made 500 flyers on “Show Your Library Card” and 200 copies of the Freegal bookmarks & had none
left at the end of the day.
4.3. Tale of Two Cities (update) – program to take place in October 2015
Director Moreno reported that this will now be called “Two Books, Two Cities” they are working on their brochure
and will call it “Orange Reads.” They are trying to find a big name speaker and contacted the actor who played
Scout, unfortunately the cost to hire her would be beyond their budget. They are looking into other ideas, such as a
getting a local judge to speak, or someone associated with the movie. For programs, they are looking into a fashion
show of clothing during that era, a swing dance class, and/or a southern cooking class. Children’s will focus on
popular games during that time. They will also show the original movie.
