RES-9900 Supporting Placement of Orange Fire Department Memorial StatueRESOLUTION NO. 9900 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE SUPPORTING THE PLACEMENT OF AN ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMORIAL STATUE. WHEREAS, The Orange City Council has supported the proposal to relocate Fire Station #1 from its current location on South Grand Street to a new location on South Water Street; and WHEREAS, the Centennial Celebration of the Orange Fire Department will occur in 2005, and WHEREAS, part ofthe celebration includes a proposal to place a bronze memorial statue representing Orange firefighters from 1905 and current day, and WHEREAS, funding for the statue, that will be both designed and constructed by an Orange firefighter, is being coordinated by the City of Orange Firefighters, Local 2384, a non-profit organization, and WHEREAS, approval from the City Council is needed to authorize the placement of the memorial statue in front of the new Fire Station #1 once construction is completed.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that placement of a bronze memorial statue celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Orange Fire Department will be authorized to be placed at a site to be determined once the construction of new Fire Station #1 is completed.ADOPTED this 27th day of July, ATTEST: Mary E. h , City Clerk, City range I, MARY E.
