A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING AND
RESTRICTING PARKING ON CHAPMAN AVENUE
FROM SHAFFER STREET TO GLASSELL STREET,
AND GLASSELL STREET FROM CHAPMAN
AVENUE TO ALMOND AVENUE, AND ALMOND
AVENUE FROM GLASSELL STREET TO LEMON
STREET TO FACILITATE THE HISTORIC
EDWARDS HOUSE MOVE TO 242 W. ALMOND
AVENUE.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21100 (f) authorizes cities to close segments of
streets for construction projects when, in the opinion of the City council, the closing is necessary
for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during the
temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Orange has requested
temporary street closures and parking restrictions to facilitate the move of a Historic House to its
new location
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orange
as follows:
Section I:
That Chapman Avenue from Shaffer Street to Glassell Street, and Glassell Street from
Chapman Avenue to Almond Avenue, and Almond Avenue from Glassell Street to Lemon Street
will be closed to through traffic, as decided by the Public Works Director/City Engineer, to
facilitate the move of a Historic House to its new location.
Section II:
That on-street parking be restricted on Chapman Avenue from Shaffer Street to
Glassell Street, and Glassell Street from Chapman Avenue to Almond Avenue, and Almond Avenue
from Glassell Street to Lemon Street, as decided by the Public Works Director/City Engineer,
to facilitate the move of a Historic House to its new
location.Section
III:The City staff shall notify area residents and businesses of the temporary street
closures and parking restrictions in accordance with the Public Works Department's
directions.ADOPTED this 8th day of June,
