A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO RICHARD BARNES OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR
MORE THAN 34 YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Dick Barnes began his career with the City of Orange in November of
1969 as a Maintenance Man I in the Public Works Department and was promoted to Crew Leader
in May 1978; and
WHEREAS, in March, 1979, Dick transferred from the Maintenance Section to the
Construction Section as a Construction Inspector & Soil Technician, and was promoted to Senior
Construction Inspector in March 1998; and
WHEREAS, Dick consistently produced high-quality inspection work and
provided excellent on-the-job training to newly hired inspectors, his thorough knowledge
of inspection and extensive construction inspection experience will
be missed; and WHEREAS, Dick has always demonstrated a willingness to
accept additional work responsibilities. He always keeps his radio on and can be reached easily on the Fridays
he is off to provide assistance in resolving any field problems. This dependable
and valuable free service/assistance will end
with his retirement.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Orange, on behalf of the employees and citizens of the City of Orange,
hereby expresses to Richard D. Barnes sincere appreciation for over 34 years of loyal and
dedicated service and wishes Richard and his wife, Cristina, a happy
and fulfilling retirement.ADOPTED this 8th day
