A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO CHARLES H. GLASS OF
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HIM FOR 16 YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, on March I, 1988, Charles H. Glass began his employment with the
City of Orange as a Senior Civil Engineer; and
WHEREAS, Chuck has the distinction of being registered with the State of
California as both a Civil Engineer and a Traffic Engineer, attesting to both his skill and
knowledge; and
WHEREAS, Chuck has spent his entire tenure with the City working for the Traffic
Engineering section of Public Works, providing exemplary customer service to our citizens
and contractors doing business with the City; and
WHEREAS, for many years Chuck supported the City Traffic Commission with his
considerable background and experience in the field of Traffic Engineering, providing
precision and detailed analyses of traffic safety issues; and
WHEREAS, Chuck helped implement the City's Transportation System
Improvement Program (TSIP) and actively maintained it over the years; and
WHEREAS, Chuck was a driving force behind the implementation of the City's
residential neighborhood permit parking program and a significant contributor to traffic
calming programs, improving the quality oflife of the City's residents; and
WHEREAS, Charles H. Glass has announced his decision to retire from the City of
Orange as of July 6,2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Orange hereby expresses sincere appreciation and congratulations to Charles H. Glass for his
16 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange and its citizens, and wishes
Chuck a happy and fulfilling retirement.
