A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ERLINDA COMPTON, CITY RECORDS
MANAGER, AND COMMENDING HER FOR MORE
THAN THIRTEEN YEARS OF DEDICATED
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Erlinda Rae Compton began her career with the City of Orange in
October 1990 as Records Manager in the City Clerk's Office; and
WHEREAS, Erlinda has played an important role in bringing the City's records
system into the computer age with the creation of the automated records system, enabling
the City to rely less on paper records and rely more on computers to retrieve records, as
well as provide important documents to the public on the City's website; and
WHEREAS, Erlinda started the City's first Automated Records Management
System (ARMS) Committee, and has conducted numerous training session for City
employees, to ensure all City departments utilized standard City records procedures; and
WHEREAS, Erlinda also devised an important tracking system for City
agreements and contracts, While the records management system was the focal point of
the system, Erlinda took to heart the term "tracking", She would relentlessly track down
anyone connected with the whereabouts of a document to ensure that all documents
found their rightful home and were safeguarded in the City's permanent files; and
WHEREAS, Erlinda has single-handedly been responsible for the increase
in Starbucks stock over the past few years - but does anyone really know what a Grande,
percent, iced latte, one equal, in a Venti cup with extra ice - AKA a 3,05 - is? and WHEREAS, Erlinda
has also contributed greatly to creative budget covers,presentations, United
Way baskets, Halloween costumes and scrap books ~ and did we mention her
interest in Starbucks? and WHEREAS, now
that Erlinda has implemented methods to successfully train everyone in
the City to fully comply with the City's contract procedures, it is time for her to move
west and bring order to a new organization; and WHEREAS, the
City of Orange was not able to offer Erlinda a free Disneyland annual pass;
therefore, she has decided to embark on a California Adventure as Records Manager with

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Orange, hereby express sincere appreciation and congratulations to Erlinda Rae Compton
and wishes her well in her new adventure.
