RES-9836 Loyal Service Appreciation for Dennis BueschelRESOLUTION NO. 9836 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DENNIS BUESCHEL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR TWENTY-FOUR YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.WHEREAS, Dennis Bueschel began his career with the City of Orange Fire Department on March 18, 1979 as a probationary firefighter. He was promoted to Fire Engineer on October 1, 1983. In February of 1989, Dennis was promoted to Fire Captain and assigned to suppression. In May of 1999 he was assigned to the Administrative Captain position where he finished out his career.WHEREAS, Dennis was an outstanding representative for the Fire Department and the City due to his work with the American Heart Association coordinating the CPR instructors and assisting with their fund raising efforts for many years. For his efforts he was awarded the Rotary Clubs' Community Service Award; and WHEREAS, he was a member of the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 5 serving at the Oklahoma City Bombing; and WHEREAS, Dennis received an award from the Employee Suggestion Program for an improved inspection routine which saved staff time and showed his commitment towards improving the system; and WHEREAS, he received numerous commendations for conducting table top exercises for the City's Emergency Preparedness efIorts, participating in a County-wide earthquake drill, participating in training films and the COPS Expo; and WHEREAS, Dennis Bueschel was known as a genuine caring person who was always willing to help his co-workers and for his little naughty streak that loved to play practical jokes on those same coworkers,NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that Dennis Bueschel be recognized and congratulated for his twenty-four years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange and that the City Council on behalf of all the citizens of Orange wish Dennis and his wife Karen a long, happy and healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 9th ATTEST: City Clerk" 1, MARY E.
