A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE STATING ITS INTENT TO
VACATE A PORTION OF THAT PUBLIC STREET
COMMONL Y KNOWN AS CENTER STREET
LOCATED NORTH OF CHAPMAN AVENUE AND
ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF ORANGE MAIN
BRANCH PUBLIC LIBRARY AND A CITY OWNED
PUBLIC PARKING LOT.
WHEREAS, upon the request of the City staff of the City of Orange, the City Council
of the City of Orange declares its intent to vacate that portion of Center Street described in
Exhibit A, and generally depicted on the map attached hereto as Exhibit B, which is a public
street and right-of-way located north of Chapman Avenue, adjacent to the City of
Orange Main Branch Library and a City owned public parking
lot; and WHEREAS, the vacation of that portion of Center Street for public road
and highway purposes is conducted pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 3 of the Streets
and Highways Code (commencing at Section
8320); and WHEREAS, a hearing for all persons interested in the proposed vacation shall
be held on April 13, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City of Orange, 300
E. Chapman A venue, Orange, California, or as soon thereafter as the matter may
be heard.NOW, THEREFORE the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish and
post this resolution of intention in the manner required by Sections 8322 and 8323 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California.ADOPTED this 9th day of
