RESOLUTION NO. 10029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO BARBARA S. BEHRENS OF THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HER FOR
MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS OF DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Barbara began her thirty year career with the City in June of 1975 as a
Finance Clerk II and was soon promoted to Finance Clerk III; and '.
WHEREAS, Barbara was promoted to Finance Supervisor in February of 1985; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has served the City in several areas of Finance including Accounts
Payable, Payroll, and Utility Billing Services, and has also served the City as President of the
Orange Chapter of the National Management Association; and
WHEREAS, Barbara's most recent projects have included the selection of software to
provide for on-line bill presentment and payment (E-Care), the automation of Utility Bill
payment processing, and the transition to bi-monthly Paramedic Program payments; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled loyalty, work ethic,
and dedication to the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, Barbara has successfully captained the implementation of numerous rate
adjustments and difficult system conversions in Utility Billing; and
WHEREAS, Barbara's knowledge of Utility Billing Services is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, Barbara is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to
consistently deliver accurate, quality results; and
WHEREAS, Barbara leads the way in setting an example of excellence in Customer
Service; and
WHEREAS, Barbara is known for her generous spirit as well as her genuine love and
concern for her staff;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange
commend Barbara S. Behrens for her thirty years of outstanding, dedicated and loyal service to
the City of Orange, and wish her God Speed. Barbara will be greatly missed but never forgotten
by her City of Orange family.
