RESOLUTION NO. 10002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING
GRAND STREET FROM CHAPMAN AVENUE TO
ALMOND AVENUE, FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2005; FOR AN OPEN
HOUSE AT ORANGE FIRE STATION NO.1.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21l00(E)(e) authorizes cities to close portions of
streets for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the
closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the
street during the temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, The Orange Fire Department has requested a temporary closure of a section
of Grand Street, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has agreed to comply with the regulations governing
celebrations in public places, it is the applicant's responsibility to clean the streets after the
event, and to maintain 12 ft. of unobstructed access for emergency vehicles; and will provide a
sketch to the City Traffic Engineer showing proposed location of barricades including closure of
the westbound left-turn lane on Chapman Avenue at Grand St.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows:
That Grand Street from Chapman Avenne to Almond Avenue be closed from
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15'\ 2005.
