A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO THOMAS D. STEELE OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN THIRTY FIVE
YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Tom Steele began his career with the City of Orange Parks
Departrnent on Septernber 4, 1969; and
WHEREAS, Torn began his service to the cornrnunity as a Park Caretaker and
was prornoted to a Park Maintenance Worker II in April of 1976; and
WHEREAS, Tom worked his way through the ranks of the Department and
became the Chemical Sprayer on March 8, 1981; and
WHEREAS, Tom was transferred to the Public Works Department in 1993 and
became a valuable rnember of the Departrnent; and
WHEREAS, Torn's interest and response to the concerns of the public has rnade
hirn an achiever among his peers and an asset to the community; and
WHEREAS, Tom's honesty and integrity have earned hirn the respect and
admiration of the community, as well as his fellow ernp1oyees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange that Thomas D. Steele be congratulated for his more than 35 years of loyal and
dedicated service to the City of Orange.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council, on behalf of the citizens
of Orange, wishes Tom a long, happy, and healthy retirernent.
