A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO GREGORY D. ADAMS OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING
HIM FOR MORE THAN THIRTY-ONE YEARS
OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Greg Adams graduated from EI Modena High School in June
of 1973, He was hired by the Orange Fire Department as a CadetlFireman (part-
time) on August 10, 1973 and became a full-time fireman September 26, 1973
just three months after his graduation, Greg was promoted to Fire Engineer on June
6, 1986, and WHEREAS, Greg took on extra responsibilities as a Union Board
member for a time, and was also responsible for the maintenance of the
SCBA's; and WHEREAS, when the need arose Greg didn't hesitate to take
on the enormous task of evaluating the engineer promotional tests, helping to
establish new testing procedures, as well as developing the engineer academy and
co-authoring
the DOCR manual; and WHEREAS, Greg was known on the job for having
the highest personal and professional integrity, character, skills and knowledge, In
his final performance review his supervisor says that for thirty years, "Greg showed up for work,
every shift, on time and ready to work." and that "Greg is an example of how we
all
should treat people,";and WHEREAS, although Greg's friends at the Orange
Fire Department will miss him, he looks forward to spending
time
with his family,I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council
of the City of Orange commends Gregory Adams for his loyal and dedicated service
to the City of Orange for more than thirty years, We wish Greg and his wife Kelly,
a long,
happy, and healthy retirement,ADOPTED this 12th
day
of April, 2005.
