A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DUANE
P. WEISS OF THE CITY OF ORANGE FIRE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE
THAN THIRTY-ONE YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Duane p, Weiss joined the Orange Fire Department on October
29,1973, He was promoted to Fire Engineer in December of 1976, Duane became a
Fire Inspector in the Fire Prevention Bureau from 1978 until 1981 when he returned to
the floor as a Fire Engineer;
and WHEREAS, Duane was always a caring individual. His care and
kindness toward his fellow workers caused him to join the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
team which he served on for its duration;
and WHEREAS, Duane exhibited high morals and excellent work ethic and
was known for his ability to deal well with the public always keeping customer service
in mind;
and WHEREAS, he was often described as dependable, a team player, meticulous
in his work and willing to help others in the department;
and WHEREAS, one of his supervisors wrote of Duane, "Duane's strength as a
fire service employee comes from a foundation of high morals, and self-motivation, He
sets a great example for all employees to learn from, that we as individuals can perform
our job putting others before ourselves, resulting in a great and safe working environment
that we can all be
proud of,"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the
City of Orange commends Duane p, Weiss for his loyal and dedicated service to the
citizens of Orange for more than thirty-one years. We wish Duane and his wife Terry
a long, happy
and
healthy retirement.I ADOPTED this 12th day
