A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO JOYCE HANSEN, PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY,
FOR MORE THAN FIFTEEN YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
ORANGE
WHEREAS, Joyce Hansen began her career at the City of Orange on January 2,
1991, as a Minute Clerk in the City Clerk's Office; and
WHEREAS, Joyce was promoted to Administrative Secretary in the City Clerk's
Office in July of 1992, and
WHEREAS, Joyce moved to the Public Works Department as Administrative
Secretary in April of 1999; and
WHEREAS, Joyce has shown her commitment to her profession by attaining her
Professional Secretary's certificate in 1996, and
WHEREAS, Joyce has demonstrated dedication to excellence in the performance
of her duties and her approach to every task with enthusiasm and competence; and
WHEREAS, Joyce has shown initiative, resourcefulness, preciseness and
accuracy as an excellent manager; and
WHEREAS, Joyce has been a long-time member of the City's Safety
Committee and proactively promotes City and Department safety efforts and continuously
seeks ways to improve safety and security;
and WHEREAS, Joyce has developed cross trammg for the Public
Works administrative support/clerical staff and improved many of the department filing
systems including personnel records and tracking of computer inventories and agenda reports;
and WHEREAS, Joyce has actively participated in numerous citywide
programs including United Way, National Management Association and citywide blood drives;
and WHEREAS, Joyce is an effective member of the Department's
Management Team;
and WHEREAS, all City employees wish Joyce a long and happy retirement with
her husband Daryl and continued enjoyment in the lives and activities of her children
Eric,Cory and Melanie and grandchildren Jacob and Wyatt;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mark A. Murphy, Mayor of the City of Orange, on
behalf of the entire City Council and the citizens of the City of Orange hereby commend
and congratulate Joyce Hansen on her 15 years of exceptional, dedicated and loyal
service to our city.
