A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO BEN PRUETT OF THE PLANNING
COMMISSION FOR HIS THIRTEEN YEARS OF
DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Ben Pruett has served as a Planning Commissioner for thirteen years during
which time he has gained the respect of fellow Commissioners, staff and the citizens of Orange.
He served as Commission Chair from March 2003 to January 2005; and
WHEREAS, during his thirteen years, Ben has been an important member of the
Planning Commission. He significantly contributed to the successful planning of some of the
most complex planning projects in the City's history, such as Santiago Hills, Serrano Heights,
the Town & Country Shopping Center, Chapman University, S1. Joseph Hospital, The Block at
Orange and the transformation of the Mall of Orange into The Village; and
WHEREAS, Ben's professionalism, integrity and knowledge have contributed greatly to
the Planning Commission. He always brought a unique and valuable perspective to each
decision; and
WHEREAS, Ben always acted in the best interest of the City. He understood the
challenges facing the City of Orange. His dedication and commitment to the Planning
Commission's responsibilities has been commendable; and
WHEREAS, Ben always came well prepared to discuss the issues at hand. He had the
ability to make concise and coherent comments; and
WHEREAS, Ben has been a long time resident of Orange and even though he will no
longer be serving on the Planning Commission, we are sure he will continue to be involved in the
issues and concerns of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
that Ben Pruett be congratulated for thirteen years of dedicated service to the Planning
Commission, the Community Development Department and the City of Orange.
