A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO RICHARD E. EGGERS OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HIM FOR THIRTY YEARS OF
LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Rich Eggers joined the Orange Fire Department on July 6, 1975, as
a Fireman Cadet and
WHEREAS, Rich was promoted to firefighter one year later. He held this
position until September 1979 when he was promoted to Fire Engineer. In August 1989
he was promoted to Fire Captain, and
WHEREAS, Rich was actively involved with various deparhnent activities
through the years He was a longtime member of the Swift Water Rescue team and a
member of the Apparatus and Equipment Committee where he performed as Project
Coordinatar for the Truck Sub-Committee, and
WHEREAS, for many years, Rich was in charge of the Video Department and is
credited with helping set up the automatic video controller, electronic newsletter and
bulletin board on the cable TV training channeL He has produced top quality videos for
both promotional and training purposes for the department and the North Net Training
Center. We thank Rich for his many contributions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange that Richard E. Eggers be recognized and congratulated for his loyal and
dedicated service to the citizens of Orange far tbirty years and that the City Council
wishes Rich and his wife Margo a long, happy and healthy retirement.
