RESOLUTION NO. 10057
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO STAN SOO-HOO OF THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR OVER
TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Stan Soo-Hoo began his career with the City of Orange in January 1977
and has served the City on three separate occasions; and
WHEREAS, during his first 10 years as a City employee, Stan began his climb up the
career ladder working as an Associate Planner, Administrator of Housing & Community
Development, Administrator of Advance Planning and Administrator of Current Planning; and
WHEREAS, in 1987, Stan left the employment of the City as a licensed California
Attorney to pursue a legal career; and
WHEREAS, in 1991, Stan returned as an Assistant City Attorney, leaving the service of
the City in 1997; and
WHEREAS, in February 2000, Stan was once again a City of Orange employee as a
Planning Manager for the East Orange proj ect and was promoted three years later to Assistant
Planning Director; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Stan significantly contributed to the successful
planning and implementation of some of the largest planning projects in the City's history. Most
recently was his management of the approved Santiago Hills II and East Orange projects; and
WHEREAS, both the public and private sectors have recognized Stan's ability to bring
projects to a successful completion benefiting all involved in the development process; and
WHEREAS, Stan's management style and work ethic produced a high level of
professionalism and accountability that is admired by his peers. He worked diligently to ensure
that City standards were maintained at quality levels and has always been a loyal and well
respected employee of the City of Orange.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
that Stan Soo-Hoo be commended for more than 22 years of loyal and dedicated service to the
City of Orange. We wish him well in his future endeavors, whether that is playing 18 holes on a
regular basis, practicing law, or urban planning.
