A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO ALAN F. WALKER OF THE CITY OF ORANGE
FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM
FOR ALMOST TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF
LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Alan Walker joined the Orange Fire Department as a firefighter
on January 27, 1980 after having previously worked with the California Department
of Forestry and the Buena Park Fire Department;
and WHEREAS, Al is an excellent planner and organizer and did an exceptional
job of caring for his station and apparatus and was responsible for ordering station
supplies;
and WHEREAS, Al performed his tasks with enthusiasm and high energy and
sought out additional work whenever possible, even assisting with the remodeling of Station
4 by dry walling the dorm area;
and WHERAS, he was one of the courageous Orange County fire fighters
who,without concern for his personal danger, responded to the 1992 Los Angeles
civil disturbance and subsequent fires;
and WHEREAS, Al is always courteous, gets along well with the public, has been
a team player, and has had a good relationship with his coworkers. Al has been a
valuable member of the Department and will be
missed.NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn V. Cavecche, Mayor of the City of Orange,
on behalf of the entire City Council, hereby recognize and congratulate Alan F. Walker
for his loyal and dedicated service to the citizens of Orange for almost twenty-six
years and wish Al and his wife Sandy a long, happy and
healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 13th day of
