A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO THOMAS P. MARTIN OF THE CITY OF ORANGE
FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR
THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Thomas P. Martin joined the Orange Fire Department as
a firefighter on October 15, 1971 and was promoted to Fire Engineer on January I,
1977;
and WHEREAS, Tom is an outstanding Engineer, is detail oriented, is known to be
a problem solver and is quick to identify and remedy potential problems;
and WHEREAS, Tom worked well with both his coworkers and the public and is
a team player and a pleasure to have around the station;
and WHEREAS, Tom handled many extra responsibilities around the station in
an exceptional manner. He was in charge of station supply orders, fuel reports
and department flashlight repairs;
and WHERAS, he was one of the courageous Orange County fire fighters
who,without concern for his personal danger, responded to the 1992 Los Angeles
civil disturbance and subsequent fires;
and WHEREAS, Tom, a very experienced Engineer, is always willing to share
his knowledge and experience with others. Tom has been a valuable member of the
Orange Fire Department and will be
missed.NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn V. Cavecche, Mayor of the City of Orange,
on behalf of the entire City Council, hereby recognize and congratulate Thomas P.
Martin for his loyal and dedicated service to the citizens of Orange for thirty-five years
and wish Tom a long, happy and
healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 13th day of
