A RESOLUTION OF THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE
CiTY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING
SECTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR APPROVED
SPECIAL EVENTS.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets for
celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during the
temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, the Orange Chamber of Commerce, the International Street Fair Committee,
the Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise, and St. John's Lutheran Church have requested temporary street
closures to accommodate several special events in the streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange as
follows:
INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR-INTERNATIONAL STREET

I:That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and
Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue from 9:00 p.m. Friday - August 31, 2007
through to 8:00 a.m. Monday - September 3,2007.Section
II:That
before said closure shall occur; International Street Fair Committee shall provide all
signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the
Police and Public Works Departments.Section
III:That
International Street Fair Committee shall notify area residents and businesses of the
event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions.FALL
