A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO SHARON CRAWFORD, REDEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY,
FOR MORE THAN 17 YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Sharon Crawford began her career at the City of Orange on June 26,
1989, as an Administrative Secretary in the City Manager's Office; and
WHEREAS, Sharon transferred to the sunny side of the street and joined the
Economic Development Department as an Economic Development Specialist II on July
I, 1993, and in 1994 was reassigned to Administrative Secretary for the Economic
Development Department; and
WHEREAS, Sharon is a consummate professional who has served as an
outstanding representative of the Department and the City. She has been an active
participant in the City's management team and consistently volunteers to serve on a
variety of committees to serve her fellow employees and the community; and
WHEREAS, Sharon's organizational skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail,
and dedication have enabled her to keep the department running like a well-
oiled machine. She is a self-starter who enthusiastically approaches every task,
leads by example, and is the go-to person to get the
job done; and WHEREAS, Sharon is a reliable, loyal team player that never has a
bad day and is always
in control; and WHEREAS, Sharon is refined and sophisticated at the office,
but her personal life is filled with RVs, motorcycles, off-roading,
NASCAR, and cake-filled family gatherings (yet we think she
still irons her jeans); and WHEREAS, Sharon is known to have "superhero"
strength and a passion for order and is often caught moving furniture, clearing
clutter, and cleaning, fixing, and improving the building she manages all the while dressed
neatly in a suit; and WHEREAS, traditional words used in
performance evaluations to describe an excellent employee were not deemed appropriate enough,
so a prior department director once wrote, "it's difficultto tamper with perfection -
Sharon is zen;" and WHEREAS, while we will miss her kind heart and
charm, we sincerely wish Sharon a long and happy retirement "on the road" with her husband
Tim and many happy years sharing the adventures and activities of
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn Cavecche, Mayor of the City of Orange, on
behalf of the entire City Council and the citizens of the City of Orange, hereby commend
and congratulate Sharon Crawford for more than 17 years of exceptional, dedicated and
loyal service to our city.
