RES-10271 Loyal Service Appreciation for Donnie DeweesRESOLUTION NO. 10271 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DONNIE DEWEES OF THE DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR OVER FOUR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, Donnie Dewees was appointed by City Council to the Desi.gn Review Committee on November 25,2003. He served as Vice-Chair for the Committee from April 2007 to February 2008.WHEREAS, during his four years on the Design Review Committee, Donnie has provided valuable input with the designs of significant projects throughout the City including Chapman University Athletic Field, Pinnacle at Uptown Apartments, Trammell Crow Residential, Home Depot, Grijalva Park expansion, Santiago Hills II/East Orange, Best Buy, Del Rio Planned Community, and the Maple and Pixley Transit Oriented Development, to mention a few.WHEREAS, Donnie has outstanding qualifications - He received a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Polytechnic State University Pomona; has been a Senior Designer and Project Design Director for two prominent architectural firms in Orange County; and through his volunteer work with the American Institute of Architects, has served as a Director at both the local and state levels. WHEREAS, Donnie wanted to be a part of the Design Review Committee in order to share his unique gifts and talents. He felt with his architectural background, along with his dedication to his profession, he would be an invaluable asset to the Committee; and he proved this to be the case. WHEREAS, Donnie's knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail have contributed greatly to the Design Review Committee. He is especially aware of the sensitive issues involving the Old Towne Historic District. WHEREAS, Even though Donnie will no longer be serving on the Design Review Committee, he will continue to be involved in the issues and concerns of the City of Orange. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that Donnie Dewees be congratulated for over four years of dedicated service to the Design Review Committee, the Community Development Department and the City of Orange.
