RES-10270 Loyal Service Appreciation for Jon CaliffRESOLUTION NO. 10270 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JON CALIFF OF THE DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR OVER FIVE YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, Jon Califf was appointed by City Council to the Design Review Committee on September 10,2002. He served as chair of the Committee from July 2004 to April 2007. WHEREAS, during his five years on the Design Review Committee, Jon has provided valuable input with the designs of significant projects throughout the City. Some of these projects included the Chapman University Leatherby Libraries, Oliphant Hall, Film and Television School and Athletic Field, Santiago Hills II/East Orange, Del Rio Planned Community, Grijalva Park expansion, Home Depot, Trammell Crow Residential, Pinnacle at Uptown Apartments, Archstone Gateway Apartments, The Jensen Building, Best Buy, and the Maple and Pixley Transit Oriented Development, to mention a few. WHEREAS, Jon has outstanding qualifications - He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, graduating suma cum laude; has over twenty- two years of experience involving a wide variety of projects; and has a great sense of design and extremely relevant comments. WHEREAS, Jon is a good listener, always sensitive to the applicant's concerns and projects have been improved by his insight and attention to detail. WHEREAS, Jon's knowledge, professionalism and integrity have contributed greatly to the Design Review Committee. He is especially aware of the sensitive issues involving the Old Towne Historic District. WHEREAS, even though Jon will no longer be serving on the Design Review Committee, he will continue to be involved in the issues and concerns of the City of Orange. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that Jon Califf be congratulated for over five years of dedicated service to the Design Review Committee, the Community Development Department and the City of Orange.
