A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO DAVID GOODWIN OF THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN 37
YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Dave Goodwin became a full-time Park Caretaker for the City of
Orange on April 15, 1972; and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1973, Dave was reclassified to a Park Maintenance Man I in
the Public Works Department, Parks Division and promoted to Field Maintenance Worker II
on January 18, 1986; and
WHEREAS, during his career, Dave experienced the opening of Belmont Park, El
Camino Real Park, El Modena Park, Fred Barrera Park, Grijalva Park at Santiago Creek,
Handy Park, McPherson Athletic Facility, Olive Park, Pitcher Park, Serrano Park and
Santiago Hills Park and helped maintain these parks for the enjoyment of the community;
and
WHEREAS, Dave has always strived to make our City park system excel in
appearance and healthy environment, and ensured safety first for all of our community at the
parks; and
WHEREAS, Dave has been described by his supervisors as very dependable and a
hard worker, and he accomplishes all his duties in a safe, productive and efficient manner;
and
WHEREAS, all City employees wish Dave a long and happy retirement, continue
enjoyment of his frequent visits to the dessert to ride quads, and continue to be active in the
lives of his children Adam, Heather and Amber; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Orange
hereby commends and congratulates Dave Goodwin for his exceptional service as Field
Maintenance Worker II in the Community Services Department and express to him the
gratitude of the citizens of Orange and the City Council for his dedicated service to our City
for the last 37 years.
