A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO PATRICIA OBERLE OF THE HUMAN
RESOURCES DEPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN 21
YEARS OF VALUED, LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Patricia "Pat" Oberle started her career with the City of Orange on
January 2, 1990 as a Personnel Assistant in the City's Human Resources Department and was
promoted to various positions throughout her tenure with the City, the most recent of which
is Employee Benefits Analyst; and
WHEREAS, Pat has faithfully served the City's employees for over 21 years in
handling all issues pertaining to their benefits including coordinating medical, dental, and
vision insurance coverage, life and disability insurances, and paid time off in accordance
with state and federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, Pat was typically the first person our new City employees came in
contact with on their very first day of work; and
WHEREAS, Pat has processed the paperwork and benefits enrollment for over 700
new full time employees and countless part- timers during her tenure with the City; and
WHEREAS, Pat has become the City's official employee retirement coordinator,
having processed over 385 employee retirements; and
WHEREAS, Pat has always lent her services in a compassionate, caring, and friendly
manner toward City employees and their family members, past and present, especially during
times of grief and transition; and
WHEREAS, Pat was one of the founding members of the City's Annual
Rideshare /Health Fair, an event enjoyed by City employees and retirees, which will be
celebrating its 20 year in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Pat will be sorely missed not only by the Human Resources staff, but by
the many City staff she has worked with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the
employees and citizens of the City of Orange, hereby express to Pat Oberle appreciation for
over 21 years of loyal, valued, and dedicated service and wish Pat and her husband, Dave
many years of happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.
